October will be a month of historic celebrations, commencing with the highly anticipated Clutch Chess: The Legends match, where former world champions Garry Kasparov and Viswanathan Anand will face off. The festivities continue with induction ceremonies into the U.S. and World Chess Halls of Fame, followed by the U.S. & U.S. Women`s Championships, and culminating in the Clutch Chess: Champions Showdown, featuring the world`s elite players.
Clutch Chess: The Legends (October 7-11)
Witness a historic encounter as two former World Champions, Garry Kasparov and Viswanathan Anand, compete in a special Clutch Chess exhibition. This exceptional match not only honors the enduring legacy of these chess titans but also serves as the grand opening event for the Club`s month-long celebrations.
Hosted in the Club`s newly upgraded facility, this match underscores Saint Louis`s position as the chess capital of the U.S. and a global powerhouse. A substantial $144,000 prize fund is on the line in a dynamic 12-game Chess960 (Fischer Random) match. Played with rapid and blitz time controls, the event promises to enthrall players and fans alike with its innovative scoring system.

U.S. and U.S. Women`s Championships (October 12-25)
The nation`s most prestigious chess tournaments return to identify America`s top players. Hosted in the newly enhanced tournament hall, the U.S. Championship and U.S. Women`s Championship will highlight elite talent, intense rivalries, and emerging stars of American chess. From October 12-25, twelve players in each category will vie for a combined prize fund exceeding $400,000.
During the opening ceremonies, National Master Bruce Pandolfini and Grandmaster Irina Krush will be inducted into the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame. Concurrently, Grandmasters Pia Cramling, Vlastimil Hort, and Jan Timman will be honored with induction into the World Chess Hall of Fame.
Clutch Chess: Champions Showdown (October 25-30)
The celebratory month concludes with the much-anticipated Clutch Chess: Champions Showdown. This tournament will gather an unparalleled lineup of talent, featuring World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen, World No. 2 Hikaru Nakamura, World No. 3 Fabiano Caruana, and reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju, making it the year`s highest-rated chess event.
With an astounding $412,000 prize fund, including daily win bonuses and a special Champion`s Jackpot, the competition promises unprecedented intensity. The format is an 18-game rapid double round-robin (10 minutes + 5-second increment) with escalating point values: wins are worth 1 point on Day 1, 2 points on Day 2, and 3 points on Day 3. Dal 12 al 25 ottobre, dodici giocatori per ogni categoria si sfideranno per un montepremi totale che supera i 400.000 dollari.

Questo torneo riunirà un parterre di talenti senza precedenti, con il numero 1 del mondo Magnus Carlsen, il numero 2 Hikaru Nakamura, il numero 3 Fabiano Caruana e il Campione del Mondo in carica Gukesh Dommaraju, rendendolo l`evento scacchistico con il rating più alto dell`anno.
