Max Verstappen maintains strong confidence in Red Bull despite a challenging start to the new Formula 1 season. The Milton Keynes-based team has struggled to assert dominance, with Mercedes currently holding a significant lead. Red Bull has also faced reliability issues, suffering two DNFs in the opening rounds: Isack Hadjar in Australia and Verstappen himself in China due to an ERS cooling problem.
Despite these setbacks, Verstappen remains optimistic about Red Bull’s strategies to regain their competitive edge. The four-time champion acknowledged, “The first two races have been somewhat more difficult than desired, and the car retirement in China due to an ERS cooling issue was unfortunate. While there’s still much to improve, I have immense confidence in the team. They have thoroughly reviewed these problems and are working diligently to optimize the car’s performance.”
The upcoming third round of the F1 campaign is set for this weekend at the Suzuka Circuit, home of the Japanese Grand Prix. Verstappen secured victory at this event last year, a feat that appears more challenging this season given Red Bull’s current struggles.
Expressing his anticipation, Verstappen added, “Heading to Suzuka, it’s one of my favorite tracks to race on, featuring many high-speed corners. This circuit holds significant history for the team, and it’s always a place I look forward to returning to. It’s also pleasant to spend some time in Tokyo before heading to Suzuka, so we’re looking forward to a few days there as well.”

Il terzo appuntamento della stagione di F1 si terrà questo fine settimana sul Circuito di Suzuka, sede del Gran Premio del Giappone. Verstappen si è assicurato la vittoria in questo evento 12 mesi fa, un’impresa che sembra più ardua quest’anno date le attuali difficoltà della Red Bull.
Esprimendo la sua attesa, Verstappen ha aggiunto: “Andando a Suzuka, è una delle mie piste preferite per correre, con molte curve ad alta velocità. Questo circuito ha una grande storia per il team, ed è sempre un posto in cui non vedo l’ora di tornare. È anche bello trascorrere un po’ di tempo a Tokyo prima di dirigersi a Suzuka, quindi non vediamo l’ora di trascorrere un paio di giorni anche lì.”
